Created the official artwork for Kabul Goes Pop; Music Television Afghanistan. A mixed collage inspired by a true story of Afghanistan’s first youth music TV programme, Kabul Goes Pop: Music Television Afghanistan explores the devastating effects as two young friends take on the political landscape while trying to build a new Afghanistan. Kabul Goes Pop brings us into a world post the US invasion that is complex, contradictory, and shocking – all to a soundtrack of early 00 pop

MTV EMA 2020

GENERATION CHANGE AWARD COMMISSION

I was commissioned to design the 2020 MTV EMA trophies into a one-of-a-kind piece of art for each of the winners selected in the Generation Change Award category. The MTV EMA Generation Change Award recognises young women who are doing powerful work on the frontlines of the fight for racial and social justice across the globe. The winners are: Luiza Brasi, Temi Mwale, Catherhea Potjanaporn, Raquel Willis and Kiki Mordi

I’m so inspired by each of the individual winners who come from all over the world. Their commitment to change their communities and positively impact society is not only outstanding but motivational. My hand painted designs incorporated my signature style of afro-pop-futurism, patterns and symmetry whilst drawing on their individual personal history and achievements of being social change trailblazers.

KCAW London

WE ARE ONE FAMILY 'ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER' MURAL
(Design One)

I'm so happy to share the finished mural. Created by myself and Linett Kamala. Curated by Bolanle Tajudeen creator of Black Blossoms. The winning concept is an afrofuturist mural using the idea of Frestonian postal stamps to honour the legacy of Paulette Wilson, an activist who fought her illegal deportation to Jamaica, bringing the Windrush Generation scandal to the media and public attention; and Belly Mujinga, who died from COVID-19 after being spat at whilst working for British Railways. Security cameras are further to the right highlighting the hyper surveillance of young Black British men and scattered around the mural are visa stamps proclaiming Black Futures.
Love Kensington + Chelsea Street Art project is an ongoing public art initiative that celebrates the histories of the borough with murals on construction hoardings by local artists, chosen by public vote.

Tommy Evans

“Medusa wore a weave” book

The artwork used for ‘Medusa wore a weave’ was a piece from my collage collection. The collage is about being unapologetic for being creative. Everyone has a talent that they should use and not hide. The artwork only had minor changes from the original on the left. Flames were added in the mirror which originally was where I place my name. Book can be purchased at Foyles.

Brixton Design Trail

Mural one

Mural created for Brixton Design Trail and Squire and Partner architectural firm. The brief for mural was to recreate what Brixton means to you. Brixton is a melting pot of different cultures. I wanted to create a piece that represented the new generation who are lucky to influenced by all these cultures in one space. It plays on the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’. I tried to show the different cultures by using patterns from African print to Arabic style calligraphy and oriental floral prints. The Mural was hand painted using acrylic paint and spray paint. It took 2.5 days to complete. Size 3.5m x 2m

Mural Two

Mural created for Brixton Design Trail and Squire and Partner architectural firm. The theme for the Design trail was ‘Rebel Rebel’. I created the ‘Rebel Squad’ to show appreciation the woman that are fighting for basic rights that we take for granted such as basic education. The Mural was originally meant to be hand painted, but due to weather conditions and site construction falling behind scedule. The design was printed last minute on Vinyl. Details was hand painted using acrylic paint and spray paint. It took 1.5 days to complete. Size 4m x 2.5m

Notting Hill Carnival

2019 - Posters

Carnival 2019 I joined with Notting Hill carnival and artist Linett Kamala to revamp the carnival toilets. Thousands of people use the toilets during carnival but the exterior doesn’t reflect the carnival vibe. So we thought it would be a good idea to give people something beautiful whilst they wait.
